This is the ongoing application for Pittsburgh to host ICC in 2002. The application will be available online over the next few weeks at: http://www.contrib.andrew.cmu.edu/~meier/new/icc.html The new page should soon be hyperlinked as of now only 2 members have submitted experience and qualifications and two positions are still unfilled. Not due to lack of interested parties, but due to tough decision with so many talented web developers here. There are currently 2 chapters in the immediate vicinity. The largest, House of the Unknown (PA-001) with over 60 members, is splitting into 2 or 3 chapters in the next few months. The last 2 East Coast Regional Events have been held in Pittsburgh to rave reviews. We are confident that Pittsburgh is a perfect setting for an International Conclave. With an International Airport, a beautiful skyline, and literally hundreds of things to do, there should never be a dull moment for a Conclave set here. Our site so far, the Sheraton in Station Square, is a hotel across one of Pittsburgh's three rivers and situated near a shopping plaza. It has a great view as well as ajoining the Gateway Clipper River Cruises and the IC Light Ampetheater. a. A write up of each member's experience and qualifications. John J Meier, 9711-127, Chair I am heading up the bid effort and will be responsible for delegating the execution of the ICC'2002 if it occurs in Pittsburgh. In my 3 years in the Camarilla I have held many Coordinator positions. I have been Treasurer for House of the Unknown for 2 years and web maintainer for 1/2 a year. I have been a member of the organizing committee for the last two EC-REs, once as Treasurer and then as Dealer Coordinator. I have obtained my Masters in Computer Engineering and plan to stay in Pittsburgh for many years. I have forged strong friendships with the the other Pittsburgh Camarilla members, and believe me, they are a creative and dedicated bunch. Chuck Werner, 9610-025, Assistant Chair I intend on assisting throughout the bid for ICC, and being heavily involved in the planning should the event come to Pittsburgh. As we have had the Region Event for 1999 and 2000 in Pittsburgh, I have been involved in the planning and execution of both of those events. In `99, I assisted with basic execution, registration, getting people to the right places, and securing and preparing the games sites. For the 2000 Regional Event, I was Director of OOC Events - I organized a Barbeque, a Jyhad Tournament, TableTop Games, and even a Quiz Game with prizes. I made sure that EnCoRE had as much interaction OOC as it did IC. I was very successful, and I think everyone got to meet their fellow Camarilla members as well as their characters. The event itself was madly successful, as was the Regional Event the year before it. Ira Fay, 9610-022, Treasurer Ira has been a member of The Camarilla for 4 years. In that time he has served in many different coordinating capacities, including secretary, treasurer, webmaster, ACC, and CC. Ira has excellent attention to detail and is skilled with computer programs to facilitate organization and accurate record keeping. Furthermore, Ira has demonstrated responsibility and trustworthiness to those around him; he established a budget for House of the Unknown with a local University, Carnegie Mellon University, and he organized the fincances for House of the Unknown's visits to the past two ICCs. Ira would like to be the Treasurer for ICC 2002, and hopes that he is given that opportunity. David Zoltan, 2000-08-182, Director of Dealers David is new to the Camarilla but not to Mind's Eye Theatre or to coordination of special events. As a long-time arts manager specializing in marketing, not to mention in his current position as Public Relations Director of Pittsburgh Musical Theater, David has had immense experience in coordinating vendors, sponsors, and activities during special events. He was also a member of the volunteer staff of the incredibly successful EnCoRE 2000. Mike Krotscheck 9507-091, Director of Public Relations As Public Relations chair I will be responsible for promoting the Convention in all Media, including Magazines, Newspapers, and the Web (TV is a bit out of scope). Currently employed as a Graphic designer doing Marketing support and Interface Design, I hold a degree in Architecture, and have had extensive experience in all appropriate fields. I have held various positions within the Camarilla, including Newsletter Editor, CC, ARC, Moderator, Webmaster, and am responsible for founding the chapter that is preparing this proposal. I also have quite a bit of Storytelling experience from Troup venues that I have run. I am heading the bid for EnCoRE II (in 2001) here in Pittsburgh. Adam Phelps, 9511-059, Public Relations - West Coast Adam has been active in the Camarilla for the past five years, in that time he helped to babysit the Pittsburgh chapter through its tottering infancy, serving in some format as an ST in the chapter until he moved to San Francisco in 1999, where he quickly got sucked into his current DST position. In addition, he was the public relations officer during the early recruitment phase for the House of the Unknown, and was head coordinator for ECRE 1999, the first year it came to Pittsburgh. Plus, he knows alot of people and now lives on the West Coast. Thus the position. H. Jameel al Khafiz, 9711-123, Director of Registration He has been an active member of the Camarilla since late 1997, but his gaming experience spans three decades; he truly cares about the game. His abilities to deal with people and think on his feet when confronting a crisis also contributed to two successful years as Director of Registration for the East Central Regional Event. Jameel is eager to apply his experience to ICC 2002. Alex Cresswell, 9711-121, Director of Events I was assistant to Adam in organizing the first EC Regional Event. Also have organized an independent LARP called Dark Millennium Productions which had a chapter in Boston, and the one I founded in Pittsburgh at which I was one of three head directors. I have also organized several major house parties, including but not limited to "At my house", "The Thing", and I have organized quite a crazy bash at ICC called "CamTopia". I have also just founded a new chapter in Pittsburgh with our city's first sanctioned Sabbat venue. I am an avid volunteer for Flower, a local harm-reduction group, who does HIV and drug testing, and distributes information about drugs. Nicole Desrosiers, 9910-022, Website Maintainer During high school I created and maintained three personal webpages with extensive use of perl in coding CGI scripts. Since then I have created another personal website and helped in maintaining a fifth. I have experience in using Photoshop and other graphic design tools to create and edit graphics, and have extensive experience in programming (6 years). I am fully comfortable under either the Windows or Linux operating system, and have more than adaquate knowledge of FTP and Telnet to be able to work on a website from a distance. I have been a part of the Camarilla for a year now, during most of which I have been the Chapter Secretary and maintained the local d-list. While maintaining the d-list I have always responded promptly to problems or requests. c. A back-up person for both the chair and treasurer positions. Backup Chair Mathew Monroe, 9905-127 Backup Treasurer Catherine DeLoriea, Mathew Monroe, 9905-127, Backup Chair He was quitely sucked into the Camarilla in early 1999. He has filled various roles assisting both Coordinators and Storytellers in addition to using his student government contacts to help the Carnigie Mellon Camarilla club become one of the largest and well funded organizations on campus. He assisted in running ERRE `99 and was Event Cordinator for EnCoRE, which drew nearly 200 people to pittsburgh for a weekend of fun and entertainment. Since graduation he has worked as a computer engineer for the super secret Pittsburgh startup company Spinnaker Networks. Catherine DeLoriea, Pending, Backup Treasurer She has been a member of the Camarilla for only a few months, but in that time she has demonstrated commitment to the organization. She has hosted a LARP session at her place, attended several of the chapter meetings, and organized materials for a large publicity event. Her non-Camarilla experience includes being a Treasurer for two years for an active student organization, and she is currently on the financial committee for a community organization that is starting up in the area. She is also established in Pittsburgh, and does not plan to move anytime soon. d. A back-up person for both the chair and treasurer positions. Misprint? e.
